A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death outside a school in East Delhi on Thursday following a fight with his classmate in the city’s Shakarpur area.
The incident occurred on Friday, when the victim, Ishu Gupta, a Class 7 student at Rajkiya Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, was stabbed to death by students with whom he had clashed during extracurricular activities inside the school, reported News18.
According to police, the victim had a heated argument with another student, Krishna, during school hours. “The dispute escalated into violence when one student, along with three to four accomplices, targeted the victim outside the school gate. One assailant stabbed the victim in his right thigh, causing a fatal injury,” a police officer said.
The teen sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Seven individuals, including five minors and two others aged 19 and 21, have been detained by the police in connection with the incident. Investigations are underway to establish the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the attack.
