Following Arvind Kejriwal's allegations that the BJP was offering money to his party leaders to jump ship, Delhi L-G VK Saxena on Friday recommended an Anti-Corruption Bureau probe on allegations of bribes offered to AAP leaders.
An inquiry order was issued after BJP’s complaint to Delhi LG saying that "allegations are false and baseless and made with an intent to tarnish the image of BJP and create panic and situation of unrest in Delhi immediately after the conclusion of polling..."
Kejriwal and other AAP leaders had alleged that the BJP was offering Rs 15 crore to its MLAs to jump ship as the results of the Assembly polls are scheduled to be declared on Saturday.
On Kejriwal's allegations of horse-trading attempts, BJP National Vice President Baijayant Jay Panda told ANI, "This is the latest episode of 'Dramebaaz'... We take members after vetting them. We do not need any right now. All the exit polls (of Delhi Elections) are giving us good results."
The allegations come at a time when multiple pollsters, including Axis My India and Today’s Chanakya, predicted the return of the BJP to the Delhi Assembly after 27 years.
The ACB probe team reached AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to begin the probe.
