Delhi Exit Poll Result 2025: Today's Chanakya predicts BJP sweep in capital, AAP distant second

In the 70-seat assembly, 36 seats are required for a majority. Currently, AAP holds 62 seats, BJP has 8, and Congress has none.

Most exit polls results on Wednesday predicted a clean sweep for the BJP over the AAP.

The  Today’s Chanakya exit poll released on Thursday predicted a sweeping victory for the BJP with 51 seats. According to the pollster, the AAP is expected to win  19 seats and others would win no seat.

Vote percentage as per Today's Chanakya exit poll:
BJP+: 49% ± 3%
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP): 41% ± 3%
Others: 10% ± 3%

What did other exit polls  predict?

Most exit polls suggested a return to power for the BJP, ending a 27-year drought in the capital. While the AAP, aiming for a third consecutive term, the Congress is expected to remain largely irrelevant.

According to the poll, the BJP is expected to win 41 seats while the AAP would bag 29. Meanwhile, the pollsters predicted a hat-trick of zero seats for the Congress.

Peoples Pulse predicted a massive win for the BJP with 51-60 seats, whereas the AAP is expected to win 10-19 seats. It is predicted that the Congress will not win even a single seat.

Chanakya Strategies exit poll predicted the BJP will win 39-44 seats. AAP will likely win 25-28 seats. It predicted three seats for the Congress.  Mind Brink  predicted 44-49 seats for the AAP, while it gave the BJP anywhere between 21-25 seats. The Congress will win only 1 seat, it said. Matrize has predicted a close fight between AAP and BJP in the Delhi Assembly elections. The AAP is expected to win 32-37 seats,  BJP — 35-40 seats and Congress — 0-1 seat.

Meanwhile, JVC predicted a landslide win for the BJP with 39-45 seats. It said AAP would win 22-31 seats while the Congress may win one seat.

Delhi’s demography

The national capital has 1,561,400 registered voters, including 837,617 males, 723,656 females, and 1,267 third-gender voters. The electorate also includes 239,905 first-time voters aged 18-19, 109,368 elderly voters aged 85 and above, and 79,885 persons with disabilities.

What do parties say?

The AAP rejected the exit poll results. According to it the pollsters have “historically” underestimated its performance, while the BJP termed the predictions an assertion of people’s urge for change.
