Taking potshots at the Congress and AAP, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Thursday alleged that the two parties gave clean chits to each other about six months ago and are now exposing their corruption. Addressing a press conference, Trivedi said Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has given a statement for the AAP’s liquor scam that it was an open corruption and the party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is corrupt. "He (Kejriwal) is giving certificates of honesty to himself even after that," he added.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal said, “Every government housing place, MP and MLAs residence has a servant quarter, which is meant to house the staff who work at there. Those who work at their house should obviously get a salary, you would be surprised to know that 70-80 percent staff does not get their salaries, they are told that we have given you a servant quarter and to work for free in return.”

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday criticised Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar, accusing him of indulging in politics by sending a notice over his allegation that the Haryana government was "mixing poison" in the Yamuna.

Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal alleged that Kumar had "destroyed" the credibility of the Election Commission (EC) and was eyeing a post-retirement position.

No one has damaged the Election Commission the way Rajiv Kumar has done, said Kejriwal. If he wants, he can contest elections from any of the Delhi Assembly seats, he added.

"Delhi’s water issue is a serious problem. Most of the supply comes from UP and Haryana, carrying pollution from different parts of the country. These are normal issues that should be dealt properly, rather than engaging in blame games for electoral gains," said CPI(M) leader Hannan Mollah.

On Rahul Gandhi challenging Kejriwal to drink Yamuna water, he said, "Yamuna water was not drinkable even 10 or 20 years ago. This is all electoral rhetoric, and we shouldn’t pay much attention to it.”

AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, "How did they bring in a car with a fake number plate in Delhi? Does this mean any terrorist can enter Delhi with a fake number plate? Where is the EC sleeping? How did such a big incident happen in Delhi?... How is this possible if Delhi Police is not involved in this with the BJP?... The car parked outside Punjab Bhawan contained AAP campaign material, cash, and liquor.."

He further said that the Punjab government has confirmed that their government vehicle fleet does not contain any car of this model.

"The number plate of this car belonged to another car, owned by one Major Anubhav Singh Puri, previously deployed in Army Dental College, Pathankot... BJP is using a fake car and a fake number plate to defame the AAP and the Punjab government. What if tomorrow BJP gets a bomb planted in Tamil Nadu Bhawan?... How was the Delhi Police able to unlock this driverless car in a jiffy?" he added.

Hitting the campaign trail for Delhi assembly elections,, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge dubbed the BJP and AAP as "Jhoothon ke Sardar" (chieftain of liars), calling them two sides of the same coin which did "nothing" for people's welfare.

Addressing a public meeting in Burari, Kharge claimed the BJP and AAP only made false promises to the people of Delhi, and urged the voters to give the Congress a chance by driving away those who seek to divide people and don't turn up to solve their issues when required.

The national capital has 1,55,24,858 voters including 83,49,645 male and 71,73,952 female besides 1,261 third-gender. This shows an increase of 1.09% over the electors in the draft elector roll published on 29.10.2024.
