Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for alleged "threats" and "hooliganism" before the Delhi Assembly elections. According to ANI, Sisodia stated that the public would respond to the BJP's actions by re-electing Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister.

Referring to the row over AAP chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s toxic Yamuna remark, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Kejriwal had said that he would take a dip in river Yamuna, but he did not do so. Kejriwal ji, you did not clean the Yamuna River, but today I want to say that we will construct the Yamuna River Front on the river in three years after being voted to power."

The Delhi High Court on Monday refused to grant urgent hearing to a plea alleging violation of election laws by political parties ahead of assembly polls in the national capital.

Union Minister and BJP leader Piyush Goyal slammed the AAP, asserting that the people of Delhi would soon be free from false promises. He highlighted that the BJP, backed by a double-engine government, is committed to prioritizing development and public welfare.

A notification was issued by the Election Commission as per which the conduct, publishing and publicising of exit polls was banned between 7 am to 6:30 pm on February 5. In the notification, the commission also said that as per the provisions under the Representation of the People Act, the display of any election matter (which includes results from any kind of survey) will remain prohibited in the 48-hour period.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked Delhi’s former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for coming in WagonR and going straight to the "Sheesh Mahal". “Arvind Kejriwal WagonR mein aaye, sweater pehne aur khambe pe chadh gaye. Phir khambe se utre aur seedha sheesh Mahal mein gaye. (Arvind Kejriwal came in a WagonR, wearing a sweater, and climbed a pole. Then he got down from the pole and went straight to the Sheesh Mahal)," Gandhi said at a rally.

As part of the election preparations, all schools and colleges in the national capital will remain closed on February 5. The closure aims to ensure that the election process proceeds without any disruptions.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in a press conference, said that he has come to Delhi to appeal to the voters of Delhi. He said that India has become an inspiration for other countries and the world is watching the developments and underlined the fact that Delhi is the national capital. “Delhi is totally polluted. Clean air, pollution-free and the best living standard is only possible through NDA. I am appealing to all the citizens to vote for NDA. Welfare, development and empowerment will be done,” Naidu had said earlier.

he Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said that they have not received any complaints with regard to the allegations made by AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal of intimidation and harassment by the BJP workers in the New Delhi Assembly constituency.

According to the data of Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), 1.56 crore voters are eligible to cast their ballots across 13,766 polling stations on February 5. Among them, 83.76 lakh are men, 72.36 lakh women, while 1,267 are third-gender voters. To facilitate a smooth voting process, 733 polling stations have been designated for persons with disabilities.

The enforcement agencies have seized cash, narcotics, bullion, liquor, and freebies worth over Rs 218 crore during monitoring and surveillance under the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) implementation.

According to the office of the chief electoral officer, Delhi, the seizures include Rs 38,64,20,564 in cash, marking a staggering 202 per cent increase compared to the cash recovered during the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections.
