All voters in queue after formal closing hours of polling at 6 PM are allowed to cast their vote, as per Election Commission of India.

The Mustafabad constituency recorded the highest voter turnout of 66.68%, whereas, #KarolBagh recorded the lowest turnout of 47.40%.

Pankaj, Constable and independent candidate from New Delhi Assembly Constituency, says, "I am a Constable in Delhi Police, and I am contesting this poll as an independent candidate...My symbol is a shoe, which is a very strong thing for all the corrupt people... This day will be written in golden words in the history of Democracy...If I will win, I will go to the Vidhan Sabha, if I will lose, I will return to my duty...I have been living in Delhi for the past 40 years and serving in Delhi Police for the past 22 years...I know about all the problems and challenges which the public of Delhi is facing...I will work for the public and will solve their issues..."

According to the EC, Mustafabad, Seelamour and Gokalpur recorded the  highest voter turnouts at 56.12%, 54.29% and 52.96% respectively till 3 pm.

Delhi: DCP, South East Ravi Kumar Singh says, "We received a complaint from there (Jangpura constituency)...that there are four tables of BJP and cash is being distributed...we went there and saw that there were four tables set up, out of which three tables were for different candidates, two of different parties and one of dependent candidate but because their table was close by, hence a confusion was created that all the four were probably BJP's tables. The FST team has also responded to it and the allegation was also verified, nothing of this kind was found. So the confusion has been cleared. The situation is also absolutely normal and one of our teams is there..."

Businessman Robert Vadra says, "It is a very important day for the people of Delhi, to use their right to vote...Every person who wants to make the change they desire, this is the time that matters. They can cast their vote for a party which delivers on its promises. Like Sheila Dikshit ji, everyone saw that it was not govt of optics but actuals...I met many people and listened to their problems regarding inflation, poor infrastructure, and transportation. Arvind Kejriwal has never delivered on the promises he had made...The results are not going to be in his favour this time...I would like to say that Sandeep Dikshit would help a lot in changing Delhi to a better and safer place..."

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on Wednesday cast his vote at a polling booth located in Delhi's Kushaq Lane.

'The casting of one's vote is not only exercising of one's democratic right but also the moral responsibility of the citizens of the country. I would request the citizens to come forward and exercise their franchise," he said.

AAP MP Raghav Chadha says, "A lot of complaints are coming from different parts of New Delhi constituency. The biggest complaint is all our polling agents sitting inside... when they take a break, they ask their reliever to sit in their place. However, several complaints are alleging that relievers are not allowed to go inside (polling booths). If reliever is not allowed to go inside and polling agent is not allowed to come outside, discrepancies cannot be highlighted..."

Security has been ramped up outside the Seelampur polling booth following BJP's allegations of fake voting.

BJP candidate from Karol Bagh assembly constituency, Dushyant Gautam, expressed confidence in his party’s prospects after casting his vote in the ongoing Delhi Assembly Elections 2025.

Speaking to the media, Gautam stated, "People want change. The people of Delhi have seen examples of a double-engine government. Delhi, the heart of the country, is on a ventilator under this (AAP) government."He further added, “The people now believe that he (Arvind Kejriwal) lies only and does nothing; hence they want the BJP government this time."

Congress General Secretary & MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra cast her vote at the Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya school in Lodhi Estate.

After casting his vote, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, "They (AAP) have made Delhi sick and looted the city. Now, it’s our turn to work. Delhi is going to give us the opportunity. We are not distributing money or liquor. I urge the people of Delhi to come out of their homes and vote as much as possible."

After casting his vote, Former President Ram Nath Kovind said, "This is a festival of democracy for all the people of Delhi. I urge all voters to participate, as voting is both our constitutional duty and moral responsibility. By voting, we have the power to choose our preferred representative and government. Therefore, I kindly request everyone to vote."

Soon after casting his vote Kejriwal expressed his joy, saying, "My parents were very excited to cast their votes, and they have put in all their efforts to do that."

He went on to urge the people of Delhi, "I appeal to the people of Delhi to come out and cast their votes for the development of Delhi. The one who will work for Delhi will get the votes of the public."

Arvind Kejriwal has arrived at Lady Irwin Senior Secondary School to cast his vote, accompanied by his wife Sunita Kejriwal and parents Gobind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi.

Kejriwal, seeking re-election, faces a triangular contest against Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit and BJP nominee Parvesh Verma.

Bansuri Swaraj further states, "I urge the people of Delhi to vote for a 'Viksit Delhi' as part of a 'Viksit Bharat.' Please come out and vote."

After casting his vote, former Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra lauded the polling arrangements, stating, "The arrangements are good—every basic facility is available at the polling booths. The Election Commission tries to make every booth a model booth."

Highlighting the importance of voter participation, Chandra appealed to Delhi's citizens: "I urge all voters to use their franchise as it's an important day for democracy."

Addressing the role of the Election Commission in ensuring fair elections, he added, "The Election Commission acts on every complaint that political parties file under the Representation of the People

Congress leader Pawan Khera remarked, "My priorities are different because I am a political person. But what I can sense in Delhi is that people want to pay tribute to Sheila Dikshit, not just in New Delhi but across the city. People want to head towards 'Congress waali Dilli' once again, towards 'Sheila Dikshit ki Dilli.' Voters have seen what Congress did in 15 years, and they have hopes with the Congress, believing this is the only party that has 'Dilli' in its 'Dil'."

He added, "We are contesting to win and form a government. We are contesting very strongly on 40 seats and are very hopeful of forming the government. Delhi is going to give a decisive mandate."

Commenting on the cash seized last night allegedly linked to the Chief Minister's Office, Khera said, "Everything is before you. They used to make tall claims of clean politics..."

BJP leader Arvinder Singh Lovely stated, "This is the grand festival of democracy, and the people of Delhi are voting for change. The current government has trapped Delhi’s citizens in basic problems. In Azad Nagar, traffic jams are a major issue, yet nothing has been done to address it in the last 11 years."

AAP candidate from Jangpura, Manish Sisodia, expressed confidence in the electorate, saying, "The environment is good so far... The people are wise. They don't vote based on abusive language or money. When people go to cast their vote, they consider the party which would work for the future of their children... The people are sure that the BJP filed false charges against us... When I came out of jail 6 months ago, I and Arvind Kejriwal resigned. The court released us but the people of Delhi should decide if Manish Sisodia is honest or not..."

After casting her vote, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal urged Delhiites to exercise their democratic right, saying, "I appeal to the people of Delhi to come out and cast their votes. Your votes are very important, they will decide the future of the national capital. I have also cast my vote for the development of Delhi. The people of Delhi must participate in democracy and must cast their votes..."

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the citizens of Delhi to recognise the power of their vote in determining the city's future.

In a message posted on X, Kejriwal stated, "Your vote is not just a button, it is the foundation of your children's bright future. It is an opportunity to provide good schools, excellent hospitals, and a respectable life to every family." His appeal emphasized the moral and political significance of the election, urging voters to choose "truth, development, and honesty" over "the politics of lies, hatred, and fear."

Kejriwal concluded with a strong message: "Hooliganism will lose, Delhi will win."

Polling is underway for the Delhi Assembly Elections, with an 8.10 percent voter turnout recorded till 9 am across the 70 assembly constituencies. Voting began at 7 am at 13,766 polling stations set up across the national capital, and will continue till 6 pm.

Delhi CM and AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, described the Delhi Assembly elections as more than just a political contest, calling it a 'dharmayuddha' - a battle between truth and lies, and between development and hooliganism.

After offering prayers at Kalkaji Temple, she expressed hope that voters would support honesty, progress, and integrity, stating, "I have sought the blessings of Kalka Mai and believe the people of Delhi will choose truth and good governance."

Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, casts his vote at the polling booth in St Xavier's School, Raj Niwas Marg.

After casting her vote, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj called on citizens to actively participate in the democratic process.

"It is the festival of democracy in Delhi today, and I appeal to the voters of the national capital to come out in large numbers and exercise their democratic rights so that Delhi becomes a developed capital of the developed nation," Swaraj said.

Expressing confidence in her party's prospects, she added, "You will see, only the lotus will bloom on February 8," referencing the BJP's symbol.

Somnath Bharti, the AAP candidate from Malviya Nagar, expressed confidence in a decisive win for his party as voting continues.

"I will be casting my vote in Malviya Nagar. I see a lot of enthusiasm; everybody is wanting to vote for good education, healthcare, and facilities provided by Arvind Kejriwal in the last 11 years," Bharti stated. He dismissed the prospects of both BJP and Congress, saying, "They don't want BJP at all, Congress either. The Congress is anyways Team B of BJP."

Bharti concluded by asserting, "The clear-cut mandate which is going to happen in Malviya Nagar is for AAP."

Ramesh Bidhuri, the BJP candidate from the Kalkaji Assembly seat, launched a scathing attack on the AAP leadership while appealing to voters to support the BJP.

"The people of Delhi are going to vote for the development of the national capital," Bidhuri said. "In the last 10 years, they have destroyed Delhi. PM Modi wants to develop Delhi like the rest of the country. I appeal to the people to vote for the development of Delhi."

Taking direct aim at Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Atishi, Bidhuri declared, "They are all going to lose the election."

After offering prayers at the Kalkaji Temple, Atishi made a strong appeal to voters ahead of casting her vote.

"In this battle of truth versus lies, I hope the people of Delhi will stand with the truth, work, and defeat hooliganism," Atishi stated, highlighting  her party's focus on governance and development.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate from the Kalkaji Assembly seat, Atishi, visited the Kalkaji Temple to offer prayers ahead of casting her vote.

After casting his vote at a polling booth in Moti Bagh, Election Commissioner Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu expressed satisfaction with the ongoing electoral process in Delhi.

He noted that preparations were thorough and voting has been proceeding smoothly across the city since morning.

“The election process has been going on smoothly across Delhi since morning. Voters who are coming here are being taken care of and facilitated,” Dr. Sandhu said. Sharing his interaction with citizens at the booth, he added, “The experience is good. I also spoke with the voters. Everyone is very happy.”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, this morning, urged voters to support candidates who have delivered real development rather than those who have misled the public with false promises.

In a post on X, Kharge noted, "I appeal to the respected people of Delhi to cast their valuable vote. Your one vote will be a symbol of change in Delhi. If Delhi has to move forward on the path of development like before, choose those who have genuinely worked for the city's progress, not those who pretend to fight for you just to stay in power."

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj has arrived at the polling station in Janpath to cast her vote for the Delhi Assembly elections.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju took to X to remind citizens about the ongoing Delhi Assembly elections.

He urged all "respected voters to cast their votes for the development and golden future of Delhi," and encouraged them to "inspire more people to participate in this festival of democracy."

Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi arrived at the polling station at Nirman Bhawan to cast his vote.

After casting her vote this morning, Congress candidate from Kalkaji, Alka Lamba, remarked, "We've cast our votes, but Delhi continues to grapple with five major issues—contaminated Yamuna water, worsening air pollution, a deteriorating law and order situation, rising unemployment, and inflation. Both AAP and BJP have failed to address these challenges. It's disheartening to see that the progress made during Sheila Dikshit's tenure has been rolled back by 20 years in the last decade. I am contesting from Kalkaji to bring that progress back."

After casting his vote at a Moti Bagh polling booth, Deputy NSA Pankaj Kumar Singh remarked, "We arrived early to fulfil our responsibility as voters. The facilities here are excellent. I urge all voters to cast their votes without any biases and choose the party they believe will best look after their interests."

After casting his vote, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said, "First of all, I want to congratulate everyone—it's a matter of great pride for the whole country that in our democracy, every individual can exercise their right to vote. It is not just a right, but also a responsibility for every citizen to take part in the democratic process and decide the future of India themselves."

Congress candidate from the New Delhi constituency, Sandeep Dikshit, urged voters to participate actively in the elections.

"People should come and vote in good numbers. They should decide on a good candidate. I hope people will vote for development. I urge them to come and vote for candidates who will work for them," he said.

AAP leader and Jangpura MLA candidate Manish Sisodia visited Kalkaji Temple to offer prayers ahead of the elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X, "Voting for all the seats in the Delhi Assembly elections will be held today. I urge the voters here to participate in this festival of democracy with full enthusiasm and cast their valuable votes. On this occasion, my special wishes to all "the young friends who are going to vote for the first time"

Congress leader Udit Raj stated, "This is a grand festival of democracy. Delhi is grappling with several issues, and only through voting can these challenges be addressed. Some people sit back and criticise individuals and parties they disagree with, but that approach is unproductive. I urge everyone to view this day as an opportunity to participate, not a holiday. Only by stepping out to vote can we truly strengthen our democracy."

Delhi Chief Electoral Officer R Alice Vaz, shortly ahead of the voting commencement today, stated "I request all the people of Delhi to come and exercise your democratic rights. We have made proper arrangements at the polling stations to ensure your comfort and convenience and it is my appeal to you all to come and vote."

Nearly 3,000 polling booths have been identified as sensitive, with special security arrangements in place at some locations, including drone surveillance.

To further bolster security, additional police forces will be stationed at these sensitive booths, and Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) will be on standby to swiftly address any law enforcement needs.

As Delhi prepares for voting from 7 am onwards, the Election Commission has implemented extensive security measures to ensure peaceful elections. A total of 220 companies of paramilitary forces, 35,626 Delhi Police personnel, and 19,000 home guards have been deployed to maintain law and order during the voting process.

Voting will take place across 13,766 polling stations in all 70 Assembly constituencies, with polling scheduled from 7 am to 6 pm.

Approximately 1.56 crore voters are set to exercise their franchise today.

This includes 83.76 lakh men, 72.36 lakh women, and 1,267 individuals from the third gender.

In light of the Assembly elections, the Delhi government has declared February 5 a public holiday to facilitate smooth voting across the capital.

All government offices, educational institutions, and a number of private establishments will remain closed today to ensure maximum voter participation.

To maintain law and order during the polling process, all liquor shops in the city will also remain closed on election day.

Special provisions have been made for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, with 733 polling stations designated for easy access.

Additionally, 6,980 out of 7,553 eligible voters under the home voting facility have already cast their votes.

Polling will continue until 6 pm under stringent security arrangements.

The Election Commission has deployed 220 companies of paramilitary forces, 35,626 Delhi Police personnel, and 19,000 home guards to ensure peaceful voting.

The Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years until 2013, is contesting independently after two consecutive wipeouts in 2015 and 2020. Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, the party is seeking to regain relevance, focusing on unemployment issues and pledging a monthly unemployment benefit of Rs 8,500.

The BJP, which has not held power in Delhi for over 25 years, is mounting a vigorous campaign led by top party leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and party president JP Nadda.

The party has heavily criticised AAP over corruption allegations and law and order issues, promising financial support for pregnant women and subsidised LPG cylinders.

Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP, buoyed by its governance record and welfare initiatives, is hoping to retain power.

The party's campaign, led by Kejriwal and Chief Minister Atishi, focused on education, healthcare, and subsidized utilities, highlighting its achievements over the past decade.

AAP, led by Kejriwal, has dominated Delhi's political landscape over the past decade, winning landslide victories in both the 2015 and 2020 elections. Prior to AAP's rise, the Congress held power in Delhi for 15 consecutive years under the leadership of Sheila Dikshit.

The BJP, on the other hand, has not governed the capital for 27 years, with its last stint in power ending in 1998.
