Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the NDA parliamentary party meeting said that the country is now in a full-fledged ‘reform express’ phase, where reforms are happening rapidly and with clear intent. This was the first meeting of the ongoing winter session of Parliament where all NDA MPs participated.
According to the sources, in this closed-door meeting, PM Modi emphasised that the government’s reforms are completely citizen-centric, not just economically focused or revenue-driven. The goal is to remove everyday hurdles of people so that they can grow to their full potential.
PM Modi urged the MPs to actively share real problems faced by ordinary people, so that the Reform Express can reach every household and remove day-to-day hardships.
PM Modi also said he wants to end the culture of 30–40-page forms and unnecessary paperwork, stressing that we need to provide services at the door of citizens and eliminate repeated data submissions.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju later said that PM Modi, in a loud and clear message, said that it is the NDA government's responsibility to ensure that no citizen of India faces any hardship from the government simply because they are Indian citizens. Rules and regulations are good, but they should be used to improve the system, not to harass the public.
PM Modi recalled that the government trusted citizens by allowing self-certification and emphasised that this trust has worked successfully for 10 years without misuse. PM stressed that both ease of life and ease of doing business are top priorities of the Modi government.
Sources also said that PM Modi also spoke at length on the West Bengal Elections. PM said that after victory in the Bihar polls, it is now the turn of Bengal. The river Ganga flows from Bihar to Bengal, and the NDA must ensure victory in Bengal. While NDA MPs felicitated the PM for victory in Bihar, PM Modi praised Nitish Kumar as an architect for the victory.
