The suspension of six Congress MLAs, including Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra, was lifted on Thursday.
Earlier today, Rajasthan Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, along with other Congress MLAs, staged a protest outside the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly over the suspensions.
Today's action marked the second such action undertaken by the Haryana Congress. Earlier, on February 20, the party expelled seven of its leaders for indulging in "anti-party" activities ahead of civic polls slated for next month.
"Consequent upon the receipt of reports through means of communications pertaining to party leaders/workers having found indulged in anti-party activities in the recent past during ongoing process MC Elections-2025, the following persons are expelled from the party for six years with immediate effect," the order said on February 20.
Gehlot criticised the ruling party for ignoring their protest, stating, "The ruling party is not concerned about our protest... We haven't received any communication from their end... They are specifically targeting Govind Singh Dotasra and attempting to defame Congress. For the past three days, I have been in discussions with the Chief Minister and the Assembly Speaker to resolve this deadlock," as reported by PTI.
