After BJP leader Nishikant Dubey made remarks on the SC's role in making laws, several opposition leaders voiced their disappointment over the remarks. What followed was BJP leaders hitting back at the opposition, pointing out how this wasn't the first time that such remarks had been made on the judiciary.
BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma, while sharing screenshots of news articles that pointed out what Congress leaders have said about the judiciary in past, said that BJP has "consistently upheld the independence and dignity of the judiciary as a cornerstone of India’s democracy".
"While the BJP maintains this principled position, it is pertinent to examine the Congress Party’s historical interactions with the judiciary. The Congress has, on multiple occasions, publicly criticized esteemed members of the judiciary," Srma wrote on X, while sharing screenshots of comments made by Opposition leaders in the past.

Not only Sarma, BJP leader Amit Malviya has also shared a video, saying that Congress must be aware of its own past. The video shared by Malviya features Indira Gandhi.
In the video, Gandhi can be seen questioning Justice Shah's competence to assess political dynamics and economic threats.
“How does Mr. Shah know what is happening in the political world? What are the forces at work which want to destroy a developing economy? Is a judge competent to decide that? Then why have democracy? Why have elections? Why have political people in power? How does Mr. Shah know what is happening in the political world? What are the forces at work which want to destroy a developing economy? Is a judge competent to decide that?” Gandhi can be heard saying in the video.
