On August 7, Rahul Gandhi unveiled what he had been describing as an 'atom bomb' of evidence against the Election Commission.

Buoyed by its leader Rahul Gandhi’s “vote theft” charge against the Election Commission, the Congress on Wednesday released an advertisement on its X handle.

“Vote theft... It is the theft of your rights, the theft of your identity. Join us- Raise your voice against vote theft,” the Congress posted on X with the video clip.

Sharing a fictional video on X, the Congress clip showed how two people collude with the poll panel officers to cast a vote in another's name. The two people are seen just coming back from the booth after casting a fake vote. One of them says "this is such a good arrangement, victory is assured now”.

The real voter comes with his voter ID card, showing him to be the real 50-year-old “Garib Das”. He wants to cast his vote, but he is told to go back as his vote has already been cast.

Similarly, when the real voter's wife asks about her vote, she is told that her vote has also been cast. Ultimately, the people are seen going back without exercising their voting rights.

In the end, the two people are also seen colluding with the Booth Level Officer with the video taking a jibe at the EC.

Gandhi on Tuesday alleged “vote-chori” (vote theft) in 48 Lok Sabha constituencies, including in  Bengaluru Central. He alleged that in Mahadevapura assembly constituency, 1,00,250 votes had been “stolen” through duplicate entries, fake addresses and bulk registrations at single locations.

The EC on Monday described as “factually incorrect” the claims of “vote theft” made by the Congress and party leader Rahul Gandhi during a protest march here.

The poll body issued a “fact-check” on the claims made by the INDIA bloc.

The EC shared a list of documents in support of its claims of transparency in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.

The evidence included video testimonials of representatives of political parties such as the RJD, the Congress, and the CPI.
