Amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the mounting concerns over LPG shortage in the country, Pyxis Pioneer, a large cargo ship carrying LPG from the US, arrived at Mangalore Port on Sunday morning.
According to the New Mangalore Port Authority's Daily Vessel Position, the Singapore-flagged tanker, with a gross tonnage of 47,236 tonnes, docked at Berth No. 13 at around 6 am.

The tanker that sailed out of Port of Nederland, Texas, on February 14, will discharge 16,714 tonnes of LPG for Aegis Logistics Ltd. at New Mangalore. It would sail out on Monday early morning, according to a report by The Hindu.
Aegis Logistics Ltd. in an Indian integrated oil, gas and chemical logistics company. The stock of the company closed 0.72 percent higher at Rs 611.70 on NSE in the last trading session.
The development comes amid concerns of gas shortage, with the government allowing another 20% allocation of commercial LPG to states for priority sectors on Saturday, increasing total allocation to 50%.
Before the ship from the US, Aqua Titan, a vessel carrying Russian crude oil, reached Mangalore. Due to the size of Aqua Titan and the quantity of the oil, the vessel was not docked at the Mangalore port. It was stationed about 18 nautical miles away from the port.
