Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, Khalistani separatist andthe leader of the outlawed group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ, has issued direct threat to Kapil Sharma, after the firing incident at the comedia's newly opened cafe in Cananda, according to News18.
“Canada is not your playground. Take your blood money back to Hindustan. Canada will not allow violent Hindutva ideology to take root on Canadian soil under the guise of business," Pannun said in a video message .
Pannun accused Sharma of "promoting Hindutva under the guise of business" in Canada and warned that such ideology would not be allowed to take root there.
The authorities suspect that the attack was orchestrated by the banned Khalistani terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). No injuries were reported in the late-night attack, which occurred just days after the cafe’s launch.
Additionally, Harjit Singh Laddi, a designated terrorist and operative of BKI, claimed responsibility for the attack in a video. India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a Rs 10 lakh reward for any information leading to Laddi’s arrest.
Meanwhile, despite the violent episode, the cafe has decided to continue operations. “We opened Kap’s Cafe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock, but we are not giving up," it announced in an Instagram post.
