Brothers fight over father’s funeral in Madhya Pradesh, one suggests cutting body in two

In a bizarre incident in Tal Lidhora village in Madhya Pradesh’s Tikamgarh district, two brothers got into a dispute over performing their father’s last rites to such an extent that one of them reportedly suggested cutting the body into two.

After 85-year-old Dhyani Singh Ghosh passed away on Sunday, his elder son, Damodar Singh, who had taken care of him during his illness, started the preparations for the cremation. However, his younger brother, Kishan Singh, arrived with his family and insisted on performing the rituals.

According to a Times of India report, villagers and relatives tried to intervene and bring the situation to normal.

As the deadlock continued for nearly five hours, the villagers ultimately called the police to resolve the issue.

The cops mediated between the brothers and later it was decided that Damodar would perform the last rites as per the family’s agreement.

Kishan and his family attended the cremation under police supervision, putting an end to the dispute.
