UP News Live: UP CM flags off 48 trucks with flood relief materials for Uttarakhand, Himachal and Punjab

Two labourers died of suspected asphyxiation, and two others were hospitalised, in Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana on Tuesday, police said.

The incident occurred in Cherla mandal when four workers were engaged in cement work for a sump being constructed as part of a drinking water supply scheme.

According to a senior police official, one worker initially entered the sump and called for help. Three others went in to rescue him, but two fell unconscious due to a lack of oxygen and later died. The remaining two were taken to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, "There has been significant loss of life in Kishtwar and Mata Vaishno Devi. Houses, shops, government structures, and crops have suffered a lot of damage.... We will request the Railway Minister that since our track is open, 2-4 special trains should be run so that we can transport essential goods from Jammu to Kashmir; this will provide some relief, and we should receive compensation for the damage we have suffered..."
