India News Live: Direct air services connecting India and China can resume by late October 2025

It has now been agreed that direct air services connecting designated points in India and China can resume by late October 2025, in keeping with the winter season schedule, subject to commercial decision of the designated carriers from the two countries and fulfilment of all operational criteria: MEA

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "Even after 78 years of independence, a dispute over the border in the Sir Creek area is being stirred up. India has made several attempts to resolve it through dialogue, but there is a flaw in Pakistan's intentions; its intentions are not clear. The way in which the Pakistan army has recently expanded its military infrastructure in areas adjacent to Sir Creek reveals its intentions. The Indian Army and BSF are jointly and vigilantly protecting the borders of India. If any misadventure is attempted from the Pakistan side in the Sir Creek area, it will receive such a decisive response that both history and geography will change. In the 1965 war, the Indian Army had demonstrated the capability to reach Lahore. Today in 2025, Pakistan should remember that one route to Karachi passes through the creek."

In Kachchh, Gujarat, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "During Operation Sindoor, our armed forces demonstrated that the forces challenging India's sovereignty, no matter where they are hiding, we have the power to find them and eliminate them. No power in the world, if it challenges our sovereignty, will find India sitting silently. Today's India says that whether it is terrorism or any other kind of problem, we have the capability to deal with and defeat it. During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan made a failed attempt to breach India's defence system from Leh to this area of Sir Creek. India's armed forces completely exposed the Pakistani air defence system and sent a message to the world that India's armed forces can inflict heavy damage on Pakistan whenever, wherever, and however they wish. Despite our capabilities, we exercised restraint because our military action was directed against terrorism. Escalating the situation and waging war was not the objective of Operation Sindoor. I am pleased that Indian forces have successfully achieved all of Operation Sindoor's military objectives. However, our fight against terrorism continues."

During the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh, Sarsanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat says, "... Natural calamities have increased. Landslides and incessant rainfall have become normal... This pattern has been observed over the last 3-4 years. The Himalayas are our security wall and a source of water for the entire South Asia. If the existing patterns of development promote the calamities that we are seeing, then we will have to reconsider our decisions. The present situation of the Himalayas is ringing a warning bell."

During the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), Sarsanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat said, "The new tariff policy implemented by the US was done keeping in mind the interest of their own. But everyone is affected by them... The world functions with dependence on each other; this is how relations between any two nations are maintained. No country can survive in isolation. This dependence must not turn into compulsion... We need to rely on swadeshi and focus on self-reliance... Yet strive to maintain diplomatic relations with all our friendly nations, which will be with our wish and without compulsion."

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said, “We have gathered here to attend the Vijaya Dashami programme to mark the Sangh’s 100 years today. This year marks the 350th anniversary of the sacrifice of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. We honour those who sacrificed their lives and protected society from oppression and injustice. It’s also Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti today. His contribution to India’s independence was great."

"Nepal or Bangladesh: Anti-social elements at work. We have to be vigilant and careful about security. Change doesn't come through violence," Mohan Bhagwat said as he raked up unrest in India's neighbouring countries.

On Trump's tariffs on India, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat made a 'swadeshi' pitch and said, "US tariff policy affect was felt by everyone. We have to become Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant). Dependence on import must not be a weakness."

As RSS celebrated 100 years of its foundation, PM Modi said, "On Vijaya Dashami, a hundred years ago, the RSS was born with the aim of working towards serving society and nation building. Over a hundred years, innumerable Swayamsevaks devoted their lives towards fulfilling this vision."

During his address to the cadres in Nagpur, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday condemned Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 civilians were gunned down, and hailed the armed forces for "giving a befitting reply" under Operation Sindoor.

Former President Ram Nath Kovind said, “Today’s Vijaya Dashami celebration marks the centenary of RSS. The sacred land of Nagpur is associated with the memories of some outstanding figures from modern India. Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and Dr Bhim Rao Ramji Ambedkar are also among them.”

On the occasion of 100th anniversary of RSS, Home Minister Amit Shah said, "From the leaders occupying the highest positions in the country to the grassroots workers, the historic journey of the Sangh's century has shaped numerous such personalities whose life's goal has been nation-building."

"Be it the Hyderabad liberation struggle, the resistance against the Emergency, the Goa liberation movement, assistance to brave soldiers in wars, opposition to Article 370, the anti-infiltrator movement in the Northeast, volunteers have elevated the tasks of nation-building to new heights with sacrifice and dedication. Be it desert or rugged forests, the inaccessible peaks of the Himalayas or remote villages, the Sangh has everywhere hoisted the flag of devotion and service to the 'great sacred land'. By weaving forest-dwellers, backward classes, Dalits, deprived sections, and all strata of the country into the thread of unity, this centenary journey of the Sangh, which tirelessly contributes to the vision of a nation imbued with self-respect, will be written in golden letters in history," he added.
