Yamuna Water Level News Live: Yamuna flows above warning level in Delhi for second day
The Yamuna in Delhi continued to flow above the warning mark for the second consecutive day today, with the water level recorded at 204.80 metres at the Old Railway Bridge at 7 am, officials said.
The warning level for the river is 204.50 metres, while the danger level is 205.33 metres. Evacuation of people begins once the river touches 206 metres. On Sunday evening, the water level stood at 204.60 metres.
Authorities have attributed the rise to heavy discharge of water from the Hathnikund and Wazirabad barrages.
The Hathnikund barrage released about 58,282 cusecs of water, the highest this season, while Wazirabad discharged nearly 36,170 cusecs every hour, according to the flood control department.
