'During elections, Rahul Gandhi goes abroad, gets ideas from there': Kiren Rijiju on Brazilian woman claim

They do not learn any lessons even after losing elections repeatedly. Many Congress leaders have met us privately; they are disappointed and say that as long as Rahul Gandhi remains their leader, Congress cannot win.”

Kiren Rijiju says,“Rahul Gandhi says that the atom bomb is going to explode, but why doesn’t his atom bomb ever explode? He doesn’t take any subject seriously and even says that a hydrogen bomb will explode... In Haryana, elections were underway, and at the same time, senior Congress leader Kumari Selja said that Congress would not be able to win in Haryana because the party’s own leaders want to defeat it. Just three days ago, a former minister from Haryana resigned from Congress and made the same statement, that Congress cannot win because its own leaders are working against it. The head of the Haryana Congress, Rao Narendra Singh, also said that there is no coordination within the party at the grassroots level. How can they win like this?"

Kiren Rijiju hits back at Rahul Gandhi and says, “He even mentioned the name of a foreign woman. During elections, he goes abroad; during Parliament sessions, he secretly visits places like Cambodia and Thailand. Now, during the Bihar elections, he went to Colombia. So, when he goes abroad, he brings back certain ideas from there, gives them to his team, and they prepare these baseless narratives, wasting everyone’s time. Politicians should talk about serious issues, not indulge in such futile matters. This is my first suggestion to him."

Kiren Rijiju responds to Rahul Gandhi and says, “When Congress was ruling, was it because of vote chori? If he has any proof, why is he not appealing to the Election Commission or filing a petition in the Court?”

He says, "They don’t go among the people, they keep roaming abroad, so of course they will lose the elections. Congress has won in some states; why didn’t they question those results? How did Congress win in Telangana? How did they win in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh? In Tamil Nadu and Kerala, how many times has the opposition won? Have we ever questioned those victories?"

Kiren Rijiju says, "Rahul Gandhi addressed the press to hide his failures. There will be polling in Bihar (tomorrow), however, he was sharing stories about Haryana. This shows that the Congress has nothing left in Bihar and this is why to deviate attention he is raking up Haryana issue. I would advise him that being Leader of Opposition, he should talk on serious issues and not waste time over irrelevant issues."

Responding to Rahul Gandhi's press conference, Kiren Rijiju holds a press briefing and says, "If there is an issue with voting and voters, they should appeal to Election Commission and court afterwards." He adds, "But they are not doing so, they are only doing press conferences. They insult the institutions and democracy in our country."

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju responds to Rahul Gandhi's allegations at a press conference. He says, "Since he mentioned BJP using the clip of Haryana CM, we want to say vyavastha means BJP cadre and its karyakartas (workers)".

Rahul Gandhi invited a few people from Haryana on the stage to share personal testimonies of alleged voter list manipulations. One of the persons says, "The government is doing unspeakable things to us. The names of my entire family have been removed from the voter list...They said my name was cut off because of my disability."

"The Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is lying to people of India openly on claims made about homeless people," alleges Rahul Gandhi.

Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi says, "Why is EC not removing duplicates? Because if they remove duplicates, there will be fair elections. If they ensure that there is one entry, one picture, there's a fair election. And EC doesn't want fair elections."

Rahul Gandhi says, "They have duplicate photos. We have 223 photos in one booth. We have hundreds of photos in the same photo in an assembly. We have the same record appearing again and again. We have this gentleman in booth 431. He's voting 14 times... Now, the Election Commission can remove duplicates in a second. All they have to do is run a query that says, please identify same photograph. You don't even need AI for that. And you will know these are all the same photographs that we've got. All you have to say is identify the same name, same address. It's done. Two minutes. They don't do it. Why? They're helping the BJP."

Rahul Gandhi says, "What we are doing is making it crystal clear to the people of India what has happened. We are informing the people of India that the PM, HM are not legitimately in Govt, that the CM of Haryana is not legitimately in Govt, that the Govt has been stolen."

Rahul Gandhi claims thousands of people associated with the BJP voted both in Haryana, UP. He alleges, CEC is lying to people of India openly on claims made about homeless people. Gandhi says, "Thousands of BJP voters, BJP leaders are voting in Uttar Pradesh and voting in Haryana. This is Dalchand, BJP Sarpanch, sitting with Minister Laxmi Narayan. That's his voter ID in UP, and that's his voter ID in Haryana. Yashveer, son of the same man, votes for the BJP in Haryana and in UP. So, you have a BJP leader who is voting in UP and Haryana."

Rahul Gandhi asks why EC not removing 'duplicate' voters from electoral list even though it has software to do so.

Rahul Gandhi claims one person had 223 votes in two booths with same photo in Haryana, says this is why EC destroys CCTV footage. He says, "A woman appears 223 times in the polling and can vote any number of times she wants. The Election Commission has the data of how many times she voted. This is the reason the EC destroyed the CCTV footage."

Rahul Gandhi claims theft of 25 lakh votes in Haryana, says it includes 5.21 lakh duplicate voters, 93,174 invalid voters and 19.26 lakh bulk voters. One in eight voters in Haryana electoral list fake, he claims.

At the press conference, Rahul Gandhi plays Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini's clip. In the clip, he is purportedly saying, "BJP ek tarfa sarkaar bana rahi..aisi vayavastha hai" (BJP is single handedly forming the government...such is the arrangement). Gandhi says, "What exactly is the vyavastha? Please notice his smile. What exactly is the vyavastha? Two days after he is saying, all polls saying Congress will win. This gentleman is saying BJP has some vyavastha."

Gandhi shows alleged voter ID cards and claims the person voted using names such as Seema, Saraswati, Sweety, Rashmi, and Vimla. He says this means there is a centralised operatiom. "Somebody fed this lady into the electoral list at an centralized level, not at booth level."

At least three passengers alighting on a platform at Chunar Railway Station were run over by an incoming train on Wednesday, a railway official said. The passengers were getting off the Chopan Express at platform four and were hit by the approaching Netaji Express, Amit Singh, Public Relations Officer, NCR Prayagraj Division, said. "Three to four passengers have died in the incident. The death toll may rise," he said.

The elder brother of a JD(U) leader and his wife and daughter were found dead in their residence in Bihar’s Purnea district, police said on Wednesday. The bodies were recovered from their house in the European colony under the Kehat Police Station limits on Tuesday night, a senior officer said. The deceased were identified as Naveen Kushwaha, his wife Mala Devi and daughter Tanu Priya, Purnea Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jyoti Shankar said.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed grief over the Bilaspur train accident, which took the lives of eight and injured several others. He announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
