Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, on Monday, took a sharp dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election rally in Sonbarsa, Saharsa district of Bihar, suggesting that he should form an “Apamaan Mantralaya” (Ministry of Insults).
Accusing the prime minister of focusing on trivial issues instead of governance, the Congress MP said PM Modi keeps alleging that opposition leaders are “insulting” Bihar and the country.
“Instead of speaking about development or addressing corruption and misrule under the NDA, he should set up an Apamaan Mantralaya.... because that seems to be his government’s main priority,” she remarked.
In a sharp swipe, Priyanka said the prime minister’s time should be spent on creating jobs, boosting development, and setting up industries, but “since he devotes so much energy to finding insults,” he might as well create a new ministry for it.

“I suggest he form a ‘Ministry of Insults’ so his time isn’t wasted. When you protest for your job or question the government, and they say the nation is being insulted, the Ministry can summon you,” she said, adding wryly, “It should also keep a record of all the abuse they’ve hurled at my family...it would fill an entire library.”
Questioning the BJP-led NDA’s track record, the Congress leader asked, “Before announcing new promises, PM Modi and Amit Shah should first explain what they have done for Bihar in the last 20 years.”
She further alleged that the Bihar government is being “remote-controlled from Delhi” and that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is not truly in charge. Priyanka also hit out at the ruling coalition over unemployment, claiming that youth are being forced to migrate due to a lack of opportunities. “
"All major PSUs that once provided jobs have been handed over to big corporates who are friends of the BJP,” the Wayanad MP said, warning that the NDA government is undermining citizens’ constitutional right to vote.
