Bihar Assembly Election 2025 News: Opposition trying to build 'corridor for infiltrators' in Bihar, says Amit Shah in Arwal

Addressing presspersons in Patna, Congress leader Pawan Khera claimed that following the high voter turnout in the first phase and growing public support for the Opposition INDIA bloc ahead of the final phase on November 11, NDA leaders have begun vacating their official residences.

"Bihar is the mother of democracy and the people decide who will sit where... For 55 years, the Congress party has looted India. They did not give reservations to the backward classes, opposed the reservation for Dalits..."

Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraaj, highlighted the challenges faced by Bihar’s youth during the ongoing election campaign. Speaking on the issues of unemployment and migration, Kishor said that the youth aged 20 to 30 years, who struggle to find work locally, face a difficult and uncertain future. He emphasized that these economic and social pressures are significant factors shaping the political landscape in Bihar, influencing voter preferences and aspirations.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, addressing a poll rally in Bihar’s Kishanganj, alleged that the BJP and RSS were trying to divide the nation, while the INDIA bloc was making efforts to unite the country.

Campaign ended on November 9 evening for the second and final phase of the high-stakes assembly elections in Bihar, bringing to a close a nearly month-long fierce battle of words and nerves among rivals vying for power in the State.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi taking a jibe at PM Modi and said, “Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar are working for Ambani-Adani. They’re trying to steal your future, that’s why they’re stealing votes.”

The child said, when he was uneducated, he would go around with a stick, but when Tejashwi Bhaiya became the Chief Minister, he would move around with a 'katta'. Shame on such politics where they want to imbibe such values in an innocent kid..."

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi found himself in the crossfire of political criticism on Sunday after taking a jungle safari in Madhya Pradesh’s Pachmarhi, prompting the BJP to accuse him of ignoring Bihar’s ongoing assembly elections.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla mocked Gandhi, saying, “For Rahul Gandhi, LoP stands for Leader of Partying and Paryatan (tourism). While Bihar goes to polls, he goes on vacation. When they lose, they’ll blame the Election Commission and release a PowerPoint on H Files (holiday files).”

Poonawalla also referenced a Hindi couplet, “Ta umr Congress yeh galti karti rahi, dhool chehre pe thi, Congress aaina saaf karti rahi,” implying that the Congress continues to overlook its own shortcomings despite repeated electoral losses.

The RJD on Sunday accused the Election Commission of irregularities in Bihar’s ongoing assembly polls, claiming that CCTV cameras in Nalanda district were switched off for nearly 30 minutes, sparking concerns over potential electoral malpractice.

Sharing a video on X, the RJD alleged that the cameras were only turned back on after public objections. The party further claimed that illegal vehicle movement often coincides with these periods when surveillance is offline.

“Cameras on EVMs in Nalanda district remained switched off for half an hour! There was a huge commotion! Only then was the camera turned on! Every time the cameras are switched off, the movement of illegal vehicles starts in that area beforehand,” the post stated.

The RJD also criticised the Election Commission, warning that repeated technical issues risk undermining its credibility. “Every time, lame excuses are made! @ECISVEEP should not toy with its credibility and mandate,” the party added.

Speaking at a public rally in Gaya, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called on voters to decide the future of Bihar, framing the choice as one between development and chaos.

“You have to decide whether to make Bihar a developed state in the coming years or take it back to jungle raj,” Singh said. “India is going to become a developed India, and I say with confidence that India will become ‘Viksit’ only when Bihar becomes ‘Viksit.’”

The minister emphasised the state’s pivotal role in India’s overall progress, urging citizens to support policies and leadership that promote growth, infrastructure, and prosperity.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Sunday criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent foreign trips and vacationing, questioning how they were funded and accusing him of neglecting the Bihar assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters, Dubey said, “I and Rahul Gandhi are of the same age. I have two sons, one of whom will soon get married. This doesn’t make me a youth. The next generation, Gen-Z, has arrived, and he is trying to instigate them.”

Dubey further questioned Gandhi’s finances, asking, “If he has no assets and property, if his ancestors have donated everything, then how does he make his foreign trips? Who funds them?”

He added that if Congress pays for these trips, the party should clarify how they benefit the nation.

Highlighting Gandhi’s travel during the Bihar elections, Dubey said, “Now, when the Bihar elections are going on, he is seen vacationing in Pachmarhi, sometimes in Goa, and sometimes in Wayanad. You wanted to make an issue out of illegal voters, but you are out there vacationing instead of focusing on elections… You use the funds donated to Congress for your vacations.”

RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari on Sunday predicted a decisive victory for the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar’s upcoming assembly elections, claiming that the NDA would face a resounding defeat.

Speaking to reporters, Tiwari said, “NDA leaders are under a delusion. On November 14, when the Mahagathbandhan secures a massive victory, they will leave Bihar by the evening train.”

He also criticised the NDA leadership, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s statements on “firing guns” were an attempt to intimidate voters. “This gun-firing language, Bihar will not accept, and the NDA’s defeat will be settled right here in Bihar,” Tiwari said.

BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey today took a sharp jibe at the RJD, asserting that those responsible for Bihar’s “misrule” in the 1990s would be “completely wiped out” after November 14.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Choubey said, “It’s still a long way off for them to challenge Sushasan (good governance). Can these Kushasan (misrule) people challenge Sushasan people? The terror we witnessed in the 90s will be erased.”

Targeting RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, the BJP leader alleged, “His father was the mother of corruption worldwide; he promoted corruption. The people of Bihar will not spare such people.”

Continuing his attack, Choubey accused the RJD of promoting crime and shielding criminals, adding, “This family that thrives on crime and violence will be rejected. The Pappu, Lappu, Sappu, and Gappu will only be seen in the Bay of Bengal after November 14.”

Countering the claim, Bihar BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would retain power with a clear majority.

“Bihar is celebrating this election like a festival. PM Modi’s development efforts are visible on the ground, and people want the NDA government again. We are getting positive feedback from every corner and are confident of victory,” Jaiswal said in Katihar.

Congress leader Akhilesh Prasad Singh on Sunday claimed that the Mahagathbandhan is poised for a strong showing, asserting that the alliance would win more than 75 of the 121 seats that went to polls in the first phase.

“The candidates of the Mahagathbandhan are winning on more than 75 seats, and there’s a close fight on another 15–20. A government will be formed under the Mahagathbandhan’s leadership. There’s a wave of change sweeping Bihar,” Singh told ANI.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh also launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Mahagathbandhan alliance, asserting that voters in Bihar have overwhelmingly backed the NDA led by PM Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Speaking to reporters, Singh said that the outcome of the Bihar Assembly elections would reflect a decisive shift in public sentiment. “On November 14, Rahul Gandhi will get an electric shock. He virtually selected Congress candidates for Bihar, but this time, the people will send him back to Italy,” he remarked.

The Union Minister accused the Opposition of being out of touch with the people, saying, “Kharge ji, Jairam Ramesh, and Rahul Gandhi have failed to understand the pulse of Bihar. The people have rejected the Mahagathbandhan’s politics of power and jungle raj.”

Singh added that both women and youth have shown strong support for the leadership of Modi and Nitish, which he described as a sign of positive change in the state.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh also expressed confidence that the NDA will return to power with a strong mandate as Bihar heads into the final phase of polling on November 11.

Speaking to reporters, Singh said voter enthusiasm remained high throughout the election and was likely to continue in the last phase. “The final day of polling on November 11 will witness the same strong voter turnout as on November 6. Our government will be formed with a huge majority,” he asserted.

The Union Minister added that the people of Bihar have shown faith in the NDA’s leadership and development agenda, and the results will reflect that trust.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha on Sunday took a sharp swipe at RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav over his recent ‘roti’ post on social media platform X, alleging that the Rashtriya Janata Dal has long defamed Bihar and stalled its progress.

Sinha said the NDA government was committed to ensuring the “respect, honour, and prosperity” of all Biharis, contrasting this with the RJD’s alleged record of corruption and nepotism.

Questioning Lalu Yadav’s continued leadership despite his conviction, Sinha remarked, “Why is the post of RJD’s national president not changed? For years, a convicted person has held that position. They are not changing that ‘roti on the pan’ — the one whose words and actions are contradictory and who defamed Bihar by dividing society.”

The Deputy CM further said that as long as leaders like Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav remain in power, investors would hesitate to come to Bihar, limiting job opportunities for the state’s youth.

“This time, the people of Bihar will make the state RJD- and Congress-free. Every Bihari will be proud. Now is the time to free ourselves from those who insult Biharis,” he asserted.

LJP (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, this morning, accused the Opposition of creating confusion ahead of elections, saying they were spreading false narratives like the current controversy over SIR, in which the government had no role.

He said fabricating such stories had become a regular poll-time tactic for the Opposition.

“Even during the Lok Sabha elections, they claimed reservations would be scrapped. It’s been more than a year and a quarter now—whose reservation has been taken away? This time, they are trying to mislead people again with the SIR issue,” Paswan said.
