In a shocking incident during an engagement ceremony in Bhopal’s Nishatpura, a two-year-old boy died after allegedly accidentally falling into a cauldron of hot oil on Monday.
The toddler was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The incident occurred while the family was preparing to have dinner at the venue at 11 pm.
Nishatpura police registered a case and handed the body of the toddler to his family after a post-mortem.
The deceased, Akshansh's father, Rajesh Sahu, is a resident of Shiv Nagar Colony in Chhola and is a businessman, as reported by the Times of India quoting Investigation Officer ASI Sukhbir Yadav.
Rajesh's nephew's engagement ceremony took place on January 20 at a marriage garden in Nishatpura.
While both families were occupied and preparing to have their meal, Akshansh went to the food preparation area.
After cooking, the caterers placed a large pan of hot oil on the ground near the cooking station. Akshansh climbed onto the nearby platform, which had become slippery due to oil splatters.
Tragically, he lost his footing and fell into the pan of boiling oil. The caterers quickly pulled him out.
The family rushed Akshansh to a private hospital, where he was later referred to another hospital in Chunabhatti, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
