Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has increased the compensation for families of the 11 victims who lost their lives in the stampede during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) victory celebration at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The ex gratia amount has been raised from the initially announced ₹10 lakh to ₹25 lakh per family.

The stampede occurred on June 4, 2025, when an estimated 2–3 lakh fans gathered for the IPL victory parade, far exceeding the stadium's 35,000 capacity.

The massive turnout led to overcrowding and chaos, resulting in 11 deaths and 33 injuries. In response, the state government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident and committed to providing free medical treatment for the injured.
