Karnataka State Cricket Association Secretary A Shankar and Treasurer ES Jairam resigned on Friday night after 11 people died in RCB's victory parade on Wednesday.
Both official, in a press release, said that though their role was very limited in this incident, they resigned due to moral responsibility.
"This is to inform that due to the unforeseen and unfortunate events that have unfolded in the last two days and though our role was very limited, but owing moral responsibility, we wish to state that last night we have tendered our resignation to our respective posts as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Karnataka State Cricket Association, by way of a letter dated 06.06.2025 to the President of Karnataka State Cricket Association," the press release said.
Earlier, both the officials were granted interim relief by the Karnataka HC as the court directed the state police to not take any coercive action against them until further orders and adjourned the case to June 9.
KSCA President Raghu Ram Bhat, Secretary A Shankar, Treasurer ES Jairam, and other KSCA office bearers had moved the High Court seeking to quash the FIR.
Meanwhile, a Sessions Court in Bengaluru sent senior Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) official Nikhil Sosale and three event managers, to 14 days of judicial custody. They were arrested by the cops at the Kempegowda International Airport.
