Police recovered the body of a 28-year-old Bangladeshi woman from Kalkere lake in Ramamurthy Nagar, Bengaluru, on Friday morning. The woman, employed as a house help, was reportedly sexually assaulted and later killed with a boulder, and abandoned at the lake bed, authorities said.
A senior police office told PTI that she worked as a maid at an apartment in Kalkere. Initial probe has revealed that she was sexually assaulted and killed using a boulder.
A case under sections of murder and rape of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered, police said, adding that further investigation is underway.
