Ballimaran, a constituency which was reorganised in 2008 by the Delimitation Commission, is one of the 70 assembly constituencies in the Indian state of Delhi. It is a general category assembly seat and is situated in Central Delhi district.
The demographics of Ballimaran
As per the Election Commission, there were 1,53,231 voters in the Ballimaran constituency during the 2020 Assembly Elections. Out of this, 83,202 were male and 70,013 were female voters. The constituency has highest representation of muslim voters, which accounts for 49.8% of the total voters.
Ballimaran Constituency 2015 and 2020 Winners
In the Delhi Assembly elections 2020, Imran Hussain from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the seat with 65,644 votes. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, Lata, received 29,472 votes, while the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate, Haroon Yusuf, secured 4,802 votes.
In the Delhi Assembly elections 2015, Imran Hussain from AAP also emerged victorious, obtaining 57,118 votes. The BJP candidate, Shyam Lal Morwal, garnered 23,241 votes, and the Congress candidate, Haroon Yusuf, received 13,205 votes.
Candidates for 2025 assembly elections
The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Imran Hussain for the third time, given its highest Muslim population. Congress has given a ticket to its veteran leader Haroon for the eighth time on the Ballimaran seat, while BJP has decided to ahead with Kamal Bagri.

The Ballimaran constituency in Delhi went to polls on February 5. The results will be declared on February 8, along with the other 69 constituencies in Delhi.
