Babbar Khalsa terrorist Karanvir Singh arrested in Delhi for RPG attack on Punjab police station

Karanvir Singh, was wanted in connection with the April 7 attack on the Qila Lal Singh Wala police station in Batala district. He had been suspected of fleeing to Pakistan after the incident.

41-year-old Karanvir Singh, linked to the banned terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) has been arrested in Delhi for his involvement in a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack on a police station in Punjab earlier this year.

His arrest comes days after Delhi Police Special Cell nabbed another terrorist linked to BKI from Madhya Pradesh's Indore. The accused, Akashdeep Singh alias Baz was involved in the attack on Kila Lal Singh Police Station in Batala, Gurdaspur. According to Delhi Police, Akashdeep was in contact with a foreign handler associated with Babbar Khalsa International. Who was instructing him to carry out terrorist activities in the country through social media apps.

Karanvir Singh, was wanted in connection with the April 7 attack on the Qila Lal Singh Wala police station in Batala district. He had been suspected of fleeing to Pakistan after the incident. A massive drive to nab the accused was  launched after the incident.

In 2023, Interpol issued a Red Corner Notice against Karanvir at India’s request. He faces several serious charges, including murder, criminal conspiracy, fundraising for terror activities, and violations of the Arms and Explosive Substances Acts.
