Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday quoted Guru Gobind Singh as he delivered his first speech to the armed forces since Operation Sindoor. PM Modi hailed the armed forces for their role in crippling Pakistan’s capabilities by destroying nine terror sites and damaging eight military installations during the four-day conflict.

"Aapne jo kiya wo abhutpurva, akalpniya aur adbhut hai (What you have achieved is unprecedented, unimaginable and amazing)," he said at the Adampur air base in Punjab.

Calling Operation Sindoor the confluence of India’s policy, intention and decisiveness, he highlighted that India is the land of Buddha as well as Guru Gobind Singh.

“Guru Gobind Singh Ji had said that 'Sava lakh se ek lada hu, Chidian te mai baaj tudau, Tabhi Guru Gobind Singh naam kahau'. It is our tradition to take up arms for the protection of our dharma. So, when the sindoor of our sisters and daughters was snatched away, we crushed the terrorists by entering their own homes.”

Every moment of Operation Sindoor bears testimony to the capability of Indian armed forces, the Prime Minister said, adding that the coordination between Army, Navy and Air Force was amazing during this time. “BSF and other forces displayed fantastic capabilities. Integrated air and land combat system did amazing job. This has become a strong identity of the capability of Indian armed forces,” he said.

"Operation Sindoor has now drawn a clear 'Lakshman Rekha' for Pakistan," he said.

The Prime Minister also warned that if another attack occurs, India would give a befitting reply.

The patrons of terrorism have realised that casting an evil eye on India will only mean their destruction, he said.

Adampur is India’s second-largest air base and houses Rafale and Mig-29 squadrons. It has played an important role in 1969 and 1971 wars with Pakistan as well.
