Asim Munir's 'crude analogy' invites brutal trolling: 'India a shining Mercedes, Pakistan a dump truck'

In the middle of yet another bitter tirade against India, Pakistan army chief Asim Munir drew a "crude analogy" that left his own country red-faced and embarrassed.

Munir, who was addressing the Pakistani community in Florida, described India as a "shining Mercedes" on a highway and his country as a "dump truck" full of gravel.

“India is a shining Mercedes coming on a highway like Ferrari, but we are a dump truck full of gravel. If the truck hits the car, who is going to be the loser?” Munir said during the event.

The analogy, which Munir himself described as "crude", drew colorful responses on social media with people "appreciating" the Pakistani army chief "for speaking the truth".

"Asim Munir embarrassed himself and his country by inadvertently admitting where it currently stands vis-a-vis India," one user said on X.

Another user said that he never expected Pakistan to be this honest. "I almost could not believe this is a real quote - but we live and learn."

'Apne desh ki beizzati karwa raha hai (He is insulting his own country)," one user remarked.

During the speech, Munir also described the Pakistanis living overseas as a “source of pride, dignity, and strength”, adding that they are not a "brain drain but a brain gain" for Pakistan.

The speech was reportedly littered with anti-India rhetoric, with Munir saying that Pakistan will wait for India to build a dam on the Indus war and "destroy it with 10 missiles".

In nuclear brinkmanship familiar with Pakistani leaders, Munir also said that his is a nuclear nation which will take "half the world down" if faced with an existential threat from New Delhi.

Munir was elevated to Field Marshal - Pakistan's highest military rank - after military hostilities with India during Operation Sindoor.

While Pakistan projected itself as a "victor" in the military skirmish, satellite images have revealed extensive damage to Pakistani air bases during India's retaliatory strikes.
