Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra Group, shared his thoughts on the recent remarks made by L&T Chairman SN Subrahmanyan that employees should work 90 hours a week and even on Sundays to stay competitive.
"I think it should be about the quality of work and not quantity of work," said Mahindra at Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi.
“If you are not spending time at home or with friends and if you are not reading and don’t have time to reflect, how will you bring the inputs into making the right decisions?” he added.
Speaking about how he manages his time on social media, Mahindra said, he spends his time on X, not because he's lonely but because it's an excellent business tool. He said, "I often get asked how much time I have to spend on social media. I want to tell people that I am on X or social media not because I am lonely. My wife is wonderful, I love staring at her. So, I am not here to make friends, I am here because people don't understand, it is an amazing business tool. How in one platform (X) , I get feedback from 11 million people."
