Amid the ongoing opposition against the implementation of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) by Election Commission in Bihar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday lashed out at Opposition, especially Rahul Gandhi, and said that he "was preparing excuses" as they will lose the upcoming elections.

Congratulating the people of Sitamarhi, Shah said, "Today is not just a great day for Sitamarhi, Mithilanchal, and Bihar, but for the entire nation and the world, as the foundation stone has been laid for the redevelopment of the Janaki Temple at Punauradham, the birthplace of Mata Sita. I want to congratulate the crores of devotees of Shri Ram and Mata Janaki.”

Meanwhile, at the event, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said, "The Central government will re-develop the Maa Janki temple complex at a cost of Rs 883 crores. The government is working to improve connectivity between Sitamarhi and Ayodhya by road and rail networks. Today, a train is being introduced between Sitamarhi and Delhi..."
