At the 150th anniversary of Madhavbagh Laxminarayan temple in Mumbai on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the success of Operation Sindoor. He said that the entire world now knows the importance of “ek chutki sindoor" (a small amount of vermilion).
“Today, the entire world knows the importance of ek chutki sindoor. We made the world realise how important is that line of sindoor on the foreheads of our mothers and sisters,” the Home Minister said.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Shah said that the country stands proud today as precision strikes were launched on the terror camps in Pakistan’s soil.
"Modi has completed 11 years as the Prime Minister. The son of Gujarat is committed to the nation's development, economic growth and national security. Those who violated the national security have been taught a lesson," he said.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the operation – launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack – at an event in Gandhinagar today. He said the terrorists killed in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor were given state honours in Pakistan.
"We can't call this a proxy war, as those who were killed after May 6 were given state honours in Pakistan. Pakistani flags were draped over their coffins, and their military saluted them. This proves that these terrorist activities are not just a proxy war -- this is a deliberate war strategy on their part. If they are engaging in war, then the response will be accordingly", PM Modi said.
On Monday, Shah said the success of the operation has sent the message to not just Pakistan but also the world that no one can mess with India’s armed forces, its people and borders. “Operation Sindoor has sent the message to not just Pakistan but also the world that no one can mess with our armed forces, people and borders. Else, the perpetrators will have to face consequences,” he said.
