Speaking at the India Mobile Congress 2025, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, hailing India's strides in the domain of technology, said the recent success in the innovation space marks the nation's growing self-reliance and the recent foray into the semiconductor space is a prime example of that. Semiconductor chip is playing same role as charkha before the independence, remarked the minister.

Scindia also spoke about India's burgeoning tech community across AI, semiconductors and robotics, from 6G advancement and SATcom space communications. Elaborating on conditions that drove India's tech revolution, the minister said:  Democracy , Delivery, Demography and Digital first were the enabling factors that powered India's tech leap.

This year's IMC conference echoes India's global digital economy leadership through its "Innovate to Transform" theme and 2025 initiative, while also emphasising India's commitment to building efficient, inclusive and technologically driven mobility solutions, remarked the minister.

Emphasizing on India’s growing strength in indigenous technology, Scindia cited the recent rollout of one lakh homegrown 4G towers, calling it “built in India, for India, and for the world.” He said this marks the country’s rise as a “product nation,” adding that the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has generated Rs 91,000 crore in production, Rs 18,000 crore in exports, and 30,000 jobs.

The BJP leader also added that India’s ambitions extend beyond 5G, with the Bharat 6G Alliance targeting 10% of global 6G patents, and SATCOM expanding to connect “land, sea, and space.” The domestic SATCOM market, he noted, is projected to triple to $15 billion by 2033. “India is not just a participant in the digital revolution…India is leading it,” Scindia said, invoking Prime Minister Modi’s call to “design here, solve here, scale everywhere.”
