Senior bureaucrat Ajay Seth was designated as the finance secretary on Monday. The post had been vacant after the appointment of Tuhin Kant Pandey as the chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
Seth is a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Karnataka cadre and is currently the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs.
Earlier this month he was also given the additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Revenue.
