An air raid siren was sounded in Ambala on Friday morning following a warning from the Indian Air Force Station about a potential attack. In response, the district administration urged residents to stay indoors and avoid balconies as a precautionary measure.
Air raid sirens were activated across Ambala at 10:22 am, with authorities advising residents to stay indoors and avoid balconies or open areas.
A directive issued by the divisional commissioner stated, "An air warning has been issued by the air force station regarding a potential attack. Sirens are being sounded, and everyone is advised to stay indoors and avoid balconies."
Earlier in the day, a similar air raid siren had been triggered in Chandigarh after a possible threat was flagged by the Indian Air Force. Authorities later confirmed that the Chandigarh alert had been cleared.
This development followed India’s successful countermeasures to heightened hostilities from Pakistan, which had launched airstrikes and drone attacks across border regions in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan on Thursday evening. The escalation came just a day after India targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor.
