Recently, the Tata group-owned airline has been under spotlight following the tragic crash of Air India’s flight from Ahmedabad to London

Air India confirmed that it cancelled two flights on the Delhi to Washington route on July 2 due to an “extended maintenance task”, a spokesperson of the airline said on July 2.

The airline said its flight AI103 from Delhi to Washington DC made a planned stop in Vienna when it identified the issue that needed rectification before the next leg of the flight.

“Due to this, the Vienna to Washington, DC leg was cancelled, and passengers were disembarked,” the spokesperson said.

“Consequently, flight AI104 from Washington, DC to Delhi via Vienna was also cancelled, and the affected passengers have been rebooked on alternative flights to Delhi or offered full refunds based on their preferences.”

Recently, the Tata group-owned airline has been under spotlight since the tragic crash of Air India’s flight from Ahmedabad to London, which led to the death of 241 passengers with just one miraculous survivor.

Since then, the aviation regulator DGCA and the civil aviation ministry has conducted several checks on the fleet of Air India to ensure safety.
