The Air India flight AI645, scheduled to depart from Mumbai to Jodhpur at 9:25 AM, suddenly came to a stop on the runway at Mumbai Airport's Terminal 2 after reaching full speed for takeoff, causing confusion and disruption among the passengers.

Flight AI645, which was set to depart from Mumbai for Jodhpur, returned to the bay after the cockpit crew decided to halt the takeoff as a safety precaution. The crew adhered to standard operating procedures, prioritising passenger safety, the airline stated.

An Air India spokesperson said, "Flight AI645 operating from Mumbai to Jodhpur on 22 August returned to the bay due to an operational issue. The cockpit crew decided to discontinue the takeoff run following standard operating procedures and brought the aircraft back. Alternative arrangements were made to fly the passengers to their destination."

In a report in India Today reported that all passengers were asked to leave the aircraft and return to the terminal gates. After some time, they were asked to board again. However, it is unclear whether they reboarded the same plane or a different one.
