Hours after India carried out a series of 'calibrated precision' strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), Defence Minister Rajnath singh said that the aim of Operation Sindoor was successfully carried out by Indian armed forces.
Applauding the Indian forces, Singh said the forces displayed tremendous courage and bravery in carrying out the targeted strikes. The Defence Minister also reiterated that the no civilians were hurt during the strikes and it only neutralised/ damaged terror infrastructures. Singh also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unconditional support to the armed forces following the brutal killings in South Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22.
In retaliation for the horrific Pahalgam massacre of 26 people, Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes early Wednesday on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including Bahawalpur which is a stronghold of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror outfit.
India conducted Operation Sindoor, targeting nine sites in Pakistan. The military strikes were carried out under 'Operation Sindoor', the Defence Ministry said in a statement released at 1.44 am. It said the actions by the Indian armed forces have been "focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature". "No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution," the Defence Ministry said.
In a high-level meeting with the top defence brass, PM Modi on April 29 gave the armed forces "complete operational freedom" to decide on the mode, targets and timing of the response to the Pahalgam terror attack. PM Modi also emphasised the national resolve to deal a "crushing blow to terrorism".
