After PM Modi, Anand Mahindra commends Anant Ambani for Vantara: 'Truly impressive, cutting-edge'

Modi inaugurated Vantara’s Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra commended Anant Ambani, director of Reliance Industries Limited, for Vantara.

“Having visited Vantara myself, I echo the sentiments of PM @narendramodi ; the level of care and expertise that Anant Ambani has put together at Vantara is truly impressive and cutting-edge. It is heartening to see animals that have experienced such misfortune find a safe and nurturing home,” Mahindra posted on the social media platform X.

PM Modi recently visited Gujarat’s Vantara which is a sprawling wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation centre housing over 1.5 lakh rescued, endangered, and threatened animals from more than 2,000 species. After inaugurating Vantara’s Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, PM Modi said “an effort like Vantara was truly commendable".

Mahindra also shared PM Modi’s post on rescued elephants, one of whom was a victim of an acid attack.

“At Vantara, I saw an elephant which was the victim of an acid attack. The elephant was being treated with utmost care. There were other elephants too, which were blinded and that too ironically by their Mahout. Another elephant was hit by a speeding truck. This underscores an important question – how can people be so careless and cruel? Let us put an end to such irresponsibility and focus on kindness towards animals," PM Modi posted on X.

Vantara boasts the world’s largest elephant hospital, equipped with advanced technology like a hydraulic surgical platform, specialised lifting equipment, and a custom-designed endoscope for stress-free procedures and diagnostics. It also has hydrotherapy pond for elephants' arthritis relief, a hyperbaric oxygen chamber for wound healing, and a specialised foot care centre. Ayurvedic treatments and acupuncture are employed for chronic pain and disease management. Vantara also prioritises safe and humane elephant management with the world’s largest chain-free musth enclosure, ensuring the well-being of bull elephants during their musth period.

Vantara’s  also has its fleet of 75 custom-engineered elephant ambulances, the largest in the world.
