4 Muslim candidates in JD(U)'s final list of 44 names for Bihar election

The party has fielded four Muslim candidates, Saba Zafar from Amour, Manzar Alam from Jokihat, Shagufta Azim from Araria, and Mohd Zama Khan from Chainpur.

The JD(U) on Wednesday released its first list of 57 candidates.

The Janata Dal United (JDU) on Thursday  released its second and final list of 44 candidates for the Bihar Assembly election. With this, the party has announced candidates for all the 101 assembly seasts.

Also, the party has fielded four Muslim candidates in the final list.  "Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all candidates," the JDU posted on X.

The second list also indictaes JD(U)’s emphasis on social balance . The caste composition of the final candidate pool includes 37 OBCs, 22 EBCs, 22 candidates from the General category, 15 from Scheduled Castes, and 1 from Scheduled Tribes. Additionally, the party has fielded four Muslim candidates, Saba Zafar from Amour, Manzar Alam from Jokihat, Shagufta Azim from Araria, and Mohd Zama Khan from Chainpur. Nine  women have been given the tickets in JD(U)'s second list:

In the 2020 Assembly election, the JDU fielded 11 Muslim candidates.

The party on Wednesday released its first list of 57 candidates. The announcement includes candidates for four seats reportedly sought by Chirag Paswan. The key candidates announced were Ratnesh Sada from Sonbarsa, Vidyasagar Nishad from Morwa, Dhumal Singh from Ekma,and Kaushal Kishore from Rajgir.
