Charles Myers, Chairman and Founder, Signum Global Advisors on Saturday said that US President Donald Trump "will not get a third term" but instead his son might run for the presidential elections.
On being asked who will be the next president of the US, Charles Myers, at the second edition of Moneycontrol's Global Wealth Summit 2026, said, "We will have a clear and fair election. Trump will not get a third term. He wants it very bad. But I think Donald Trump Jr will run for elections."
He added, "JD Vance currently seen as the front-runner for the Republican nomination, though Trump has suggested he may not endorse him. Other potential Republican contenders could include Marco Rubio, Nikki Haley, and Ted Cruz, making it a crowded primary."
"On the Democratic side, Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky is highlighted as someone to watch, though the Democratic primary could also be very crowded," Charles Myers said at the Global Wealth Summit.
He stated, "I’m very optimistic on the future of our politics. I'm very optimistic on the institutions in the United States holding. And I'm very optimistic about the Democrats coming back and taking the White House in 2028."
Further talking about the mid-term elections, Signum's Myers said, "In the November mid-term elections, Democrats are expected to take the House, while Republicans may retain the Senate. If oil prices remain elevated, it could worsen the affordability crisis in the U.S. and potentially help Democrats also gain the Senate."
"The likely outcome at present is a divided Congress, limiting the scope for major policy changes," he added.
