March 12, 2025· 14:05 IST

Trump Tariffs News Latest Updates Today (March 12): With concerns rising among exporters over potential higher tariffs in the lucrative US market from April 2, when reciprocal tariffs are set to take effect, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that the government is actively engaging with the US to remove tariffs, ease non-tariff barriers, and enhance trade. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal concluded his US visit last Saturday, and the Ministry is set to hold consultations with exporters this week. Industry representatives from key sectors such as automobiles, leather, textiles, electronics, and pharmaceuticals are expected to present their views on possible tariff concessions to the US during trade negotiations, an Indian Express report says.
