Battery manufacturer Tesla Power India is set to beef up its team by hiring 2,000 professionals across various fields, including corporate sales, channel sales, retail, service, and electrical engineering, this year.
The company, currently with 1,500 employees, is seeking professionals for several key positions such as franchise development manager, business development manager/executives, managers (various departments), service engineers, branch service in-charge, and technical consultants.
These roles are crucial for expanding operations, driving business growth, providing service to the customer, and ensuring implementation of sustainable energy solutions.
“This hiring spree is fuelled by our commitment to meeting the rising demand for sustainable energy solutions in India. By bolstering our workforce, we aim to enhance our capabilities, drive innovation, and solidify our position as a leader in the energy storage sector. These new hires will play a vital role in driving our growth and contributing to India's transition to a sustainable energy future,” Kavinder Khurana, managing director of Tesla Power India, told Moneycontrol.

Khurana said Tesla Power India adopts a multifaceted approach to hiring for new-age roles, utilising market mapping, digital platforms, campus recruitment, and collaboration with recruitment consultants. However, he highlighted that challenges persist, notably in navigating the unstructured market and reaching talent in rural areas with limited digital access.
Since AI is changing how most of the jobs are performed, the company is conducting skills assessments, offering training programs, providing mentorship, and encouraging job rotations.
On the salary front, Khurana said the impact of Covid-19 on salary levels was relatively minimal in the battery industry compared to other sectors. “We have observed a steady trend in salary levels throughout the pandemic, with fluctuations being less pronounced. This stability reflects the resilience of our industry and its ability to adapt to challenging circumstances while maintaining a consistent compensation structure,” he said.
