Buy Idea Cellular on dips, short Sun TV: Ashwani Gujral

Ashwani Gujral of ashwanigujral.com is of the view that one can buy Idea Cellular on dips and can short Sun TV.

Ashwani Gujral of ashwanigujral.com told CNBC-TV18, "You should buy Idea Cellular on any decline and since there is again news backing it, so possibly Idea would be a call which you can take at the open itself."

"TCS did not respond very well to good news but overall it appears that it is kind of breaking out of some sort of a range between Rs 2,050 and Rs 2,350. So in the months to come, you could have a rally right up to Rs 2,600-2,650. This is a stock only for die hard IT fans. I don’t think if you have a choice of NBFCs etc, these are great places to be," he said.

"For the moment Hindustan Unilever is in Rs 100 range. So not right now, once this news picks up steam only then you should get into HUL."

"Sun TV is a call that you can take on the short side, it has opened 3 percent lower. So, chances are that could have a bad day. Idea post opening hasn’t gained, but on this kind of a decline, you should often try to buy into."

"Jet Airways is another stock which has opened up extremely well, probably it is in the bad period or something but that is the stock people can even buy in the cash market for intraday if they have to. So these two-three stocks is where the action is. Other than that it is quite flat," he added.

"Sun TV is the place where we have gone short on but overall still Idea can be bought on declines and Sun on the short side."

"PTC India is a buy with a stop loss of Rs 83, target of Rs 92. Sun TV is a sell. It has had a bit of a rally from the lows. So again sell with a stop loss of Rs 690, target of Rs 655 and Reliance Capital is a buy with a stop loss of Rs 518, target of Rs 540."

"Telecom rally seems to have started again, so in Reliance Communications maybe another Rs 5-6 above Rs 40 should be expected. Just Dial is probably participating in a bit of a technology rally but it is almost hitting its 200-day moving average of about Rs 490-495. So this is a good time to take it off if you are long on Just Dial."
