Nifty Puts add 28.4 lakh shares in Open Interest

Nifty Open Interest PCR was down at 1.25 versus 1.31. Nifty Puts added 28.4 lakh shares in OI while Nifty Calls added 46.5 lakh shares in OI.

FIIs were net buyers of Rs 491 crore in Index Options; which open interest (OI) was up by 45986 contracts. However, they were net sellers of Rs 434 crore in Stock Futures; which OI was up by 12547 contracts.

Nifty Open Interest PCR was down at 1.25 versus 1.31. Nifty Puts added 28.4 lakh shares in OI while Nifty Calls added 46.5 lakh shares in OI.

Nifty 6100 Call added 19.3 lakh shares in Open Interest. Nifty 6100 Call's premium went down to 79 from 107 points.

Nifty 5900 Put added 5 lakh shares in Open Interest. Nifty February 5600 Put added 5.2 lakh shares in Open Interest.

Chambal Fertilisers, Ambuja Cements, Unitech, Sterlite Industries and TVS Motors witnessed fresh shorts & cash based selling on Thursday.

Chambal Fertilisers tanked 8.4%; its OI was up 12% and delivery volume increased at 52.5 lakh equity shares as against 32 lakh. Ambuja Cements fell 5.4%; its OI was up 8% and delivery volume jumped at 6 lakh shares from 3.6 lakh.

Unitech lost 4.8%; its OI was up 6% and delivery volume shot up to 55 lakh shares as against 15 lakh. Sterlite slipped 3.8%; its OI was up 9% and delivery volume doubled to 42.5 lakh equity shares versus 20.5 lakh.

TVS Motor tumbled 5.4%; its OI was up 16% and delivery volume jumped to 30 lakh equity shares versus 7.5 lakh.
