David Pezarkar, Head - Equity, Daiwa Mutual Fund is of the view that one should stay away from real estate.

Pezarkar told CNBC-TV18, “Since the global economic condition seem to be quite poor, I think it would be better to stay away from all the commodity related sectors except those commodities such as cement, which are entirely local. So I would be sort of wary of the commodity sectors and per se now our fund we do not have any exposure to real estate. So I would stay away from real estate as well."

He further added, "Apart from that we feel that the market has not yet priced in some of the positives that might come in because of the depreciating rupee. So we feel some of the sectors or some companies where the export oriented part will benefit substantially, I think that is where we would try to increase some alpha for our fund.”
