JPS Rathore, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Cooperative, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday said that steps taken to make the state a semiconductor hub "will lead to a digital revolution".
While speaking during the discussion titled 'Empowering grassroots for the digital economy' at the UP Tech Next Summit, JPS Rathore said, "There was a time before PM Modi when we did not have a single Semiconductor chip and we were dependent on foreign nations. Now the steps taken to make UP a semiconductor hub will lead to a digital revolution."
He added, "The state of cooperative in UP was not okay earlier, now I don't want to say anything against the people in the past but under Yogi Adityanath's government cooperatives are reaching new heights."
"Cooperative is an economic model for Vikas (development) and the Prime Minister and Home Minister is working towards making it better. Cooperative is also a feeling not just a system. People join this feeling by contributing small amounts and people themselves contribute towards making the system work," he said.
At the summit, hosted by CNBC-TV18 and Moneycontrol, Rathore further said that "Jewar airport will be inaugurated within a month".
"The target may be ambitious but plan to not only meet the target but also go beyond it. We already have 16 working airports in UP and we are moving towards 21. Jewar airport will be inaugurated within a month," the minister said.
