Sonata Software secures $73 million modernisation deal from US-based technology, media, telecom company

Sonata says its "Platformation.AI" approach is designed to create efficient and agile digital businesse

Sonata Software has informed the exchanges on Monday that a major US technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) company has contracted the company to lead a $73 million digital modernisation initiative powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). In an exchange filing, Sonata stated that the five-year partnership aims to improve the client's global scalability, innovation capabilities, and operational efficiency.

As part of the deal with the US-based TMT company, Sonata Software will establish a dedicated AI-enabled Modernization Engineering Center in India. The filing informed that this center will focus on platform engineering, cloud transformation using Amazon Cloud, enterprise systems implementation including Salesforce and Workday, cybersecurity, data services, and modern application development.

Samir Dhir, Managing Director and CEO of Sonata Software, informed, "This is the second-largest deal in Sonata's history—and a proud milestone for Team Sonata. It reflects our unique positioning as a right-sized partner for enterprises seeking deep modernization capabilities and AI-first transformation."

The company stated that the US-based client has selected it for its "deep engineering expertise, nimble delivery model, and proven track record in driving AI-powered business transformation".

Through this partnership, Sonata informed that the client aims to achieve improved operational efficiency, accelerated innovation cycles, and improved ability to scale across different geographic markets.

The company says its "Platformation.AI" approach is designed to create efficient and agile digital businesses through a comprehensive suite of modernization engineering services spanning data, cloud infrastructure, Dynamics integration, automation, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies including Generative AI and Microsoft Fabric.

It said the tie-up will mark a significant advancement in the client's digital strategy, moving toward an AI-first outsourcing model to maintain leadership in the rapidly evolving TMT sector.

With annual revenue of $1 billion, Sonata Software is involved in modernisation engineering technologies.
