Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Retail, will set up an integrated manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu with an investment of Rs 1,156 crore. The unit will come up on 60 acres at SIPCOT Allikulam Industrial Park in Thoothukudi district.

The proposed facility will be a multi-product hub, catering to categories such as regional snacks, biscuits, spices, atta, edible oils and other food staples.

According to the announcement, the plant will generate 2,000 local jobs over the next five years.
This marks a significant addition to Tamil Nadu’s growing FMCG manufacturing base. The state government has been positioning itself as a preferred destination for consumer goods majors, highlighting its infrastructure, industrial parks and policy support.

Announcing the investment, the state government said: “Reliance Consumer Products Limited has chosen Tamil Nadu for its next big unit. The company will invest Rs 1,156 crore to set up an integrated manufacturing facility at SIPCOT Allikulam Industrial Park. Over the next 5 years, it will generate 2,000 local jobs.”

The move underscores Tamil Nadu’s pitch to attract marquee FMCG players under what it describes as the “Dravidian Model” of governance, with Chief Minister MK Stalin highlighting sectoral diversification," said Tamil Nadu's industry's minister TRB Rajaa in an X post.
