Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) on January 22 announced the acquisition of the packaged foods brand SIL Foods. The Mumbai-based brand has a diverse range of products which includes Chinese sauces, jams and canned foods.
The Reliance Group firm said it aims to bring new life to SIL Foods brand and leverage its scale, technological capabilities, and deep understanding of the Indian consumer.

RPCL said the acquisition is part of its broader strategy to "reinvigorate and modernise some of India’s most beloved heritage brands". RPCL added that it is committed to making these brands relevant for the new generation of consumers while staying true to their roots. It believes that SIL Foods will benefit from RCPL's robust infrastructure and pan-India presence.
