The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in June 6 announced that it has rescheduled the schedule for its Monetary Policy Committee's next meeting to August 4-6 this year. The next MPC meet was earlier scheduled to take place from August 5-7.

In its press release, the central bank cited "administrative exigencies" as the reason for the advancement of the MPC meeting.

Notably, this comes on the day RBI released the outcome of MPC's June meeting. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra announced that the MPC has decided to cut its policy repo rate by 50 basis points to 5.5 percent, higher than the expected 25 bps cut. It has also cut its stance to 'neutral' from 'accommodative'.

The MPC also reduced its Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation projection to 3.7 percent from its earlier projection of 4 percent for FY26, amid a fall in food inflation.

Additionally, RBI announced a 100 basis point cut in the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR), from 4 percent to 3 percent, to be implemented in four tranches of 25 bps each. The step is expected to inject Rs 2.5 lakh crore into the banking system, boosting liquidity and supporting credit flow. The reduction in the CRR cut will start from fortnights beginning September 6, October 4, November 1 and November 29, 2025, RBI Governor said.

The central bank, however, kept its real GDP growth projections unchanged for the second half of FY26, with forecasts at 6.7 percent for Q2FY26, 6.6 percent for Q3FY26 and 6.3 percent for Q4FY26.

Here's is an updated schedule of RBI MPC's upcoming meetings in the ongoing financial year 2026:

*August 4 to August 6, 2025
*September 29 to October 1, 2025
*December 3 to December 5, 2025
*February 4 to February 6, 2025
