PM Kisan: When will the 21st installment be released? Key details for farmers

As the Bihar Assembly elections wrap up and results are due on November 14, hopes are rising among farmers across India — the much-awaited 21st installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana could be on its way soon. A key Cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, may bring clarity on when the next installment will hit farmers’ bank accounts.

When was the last installment released?

The government released 20th installment under the PM-Kisan scheme on August 2, 2025. A total of Rs 20,500 crore was transferred directly into the bank accounts of 9.7 crore farmers across the country. While the wait for 21st installment is continues, many expect that the 21st installment will be credited sometime in mid-November 2025 based on the previous disbursement pattern— though no official announcement has been made yet.

What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?

Under the PM Kisan initiative, qualifying farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, totaling Rs 6,000 per year. The money is distributed in three installments each year: April-July, August-November, and December-March. The funds are deposited immediately to the beneficiaries' bank accounts.

The initiative was announced in the Interim Budget 2019 by then-finance minister Piyush Goyal and then implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

States where payment has already begun

States like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand have already begun receiving the new installment due to local circumstances. It is to be noted and all the three states had suffered flood-related damages earlier this year, prompting early disbursement. Besides, farmers in Jammu & Kashmir have also received early payments on October 7, 2025

Who will get the 21st installment?

Only farmers who have completed e-KYC and are registered under the PM-KISAN portal will receive the upcoming payment.

Other eligibility conditions include:

Aadhaar must be linked with the beneficiary’s bank account.

All banking and personal details should be accurate and verified.

The installment will be directly credited to the farmer’s bank account only if these criteria are met

How to check PM Kisan payment status

Farmers can easily check whether their payment has been released using any of the following methods:

• Click on ‘Know Your Status (KYS)’
• Enter your mobile number or registration number to view payment details.
• Additionally, farmers can also use the PM Kisan Mobile App — available for Android users.
• Check through Kisan e-Mitra Chatbot, available on the official portal.
